The CHEO Research Institute is a world class organization affiliated with the University of Ottawa. The CHEO Research Institute coordinates the research activity of CHEO and is a not for profit corporation dedicated to pursuing life-changing research for every child, youth and family.

Based primarily at the CHEO Research Institute, they focus on scientific and clinical research into rare neuromuscular disorders and clinical care for patients with these conditions.

The Éric Poulin Centre for Neuromuscular Disease was formed in 1999 to advance our fundamental understanding of neuromuscular development and disease and to discover novel therapies to treat these devastating disorders.

Care4Rare (C4R) is a pan-Canadian collaborative team of clinicians, bioinformaticians, scientists, and researchers, focused on improving the care of Rare Disease patients in Canada and around the world.  Led out of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) Research Institute in Ottawa, Canada, Care4Rare includes 21 academic sites across the country and is recognized internationally as a pioneer in the field of genomics and personalized medicine.
